Stone Fantasy
This low angle accentuates all that beautiful architectural chaos in Coppedè. The buildings seem to lean towards each other to whisper stories of fairies and stone monsters to you. The strong contrast with the sky and those fluffy clouds gives it an old movie feel, transforming the neighborhood into a fairytale setting where you can easily get lost in the sights.
Looking towards Olympus
You feel incredibly small under such a vivid ceiling. This bottom-up angle emphasizes the force of the sculpture in the foreground, which seems to want to step out of the frame directly into the world of the gods painted above. It's a fascinating dialogue between stone, paint, and light.
Spirit of the Stone
I chose to capture the cathedral in black and white because I felt that the shades of gray bring out the old texture of the stone much better than any color. It's an image of solidity and tranquility. I love how the rigid lines of the architecture are lost in that dense sky, giving the impression that the edifice is not just a building, but a presence that has been watching over the city for generations. It's that moment of monumental silence that makes you stop in your tracks for a moment.
Sunrise over the Sleeping City
The warm morning light creeps over the old roofs, caressing the bell tower that watches over the city still shrouded in fog. In the distance, the mountains rise silently, while the first rays of the sun awaken the narrow streets and historic houses. A scene that captures the silence, the suspended time and the discreet beauty of an Italian town in the first moments of the day.
Sacred Symmetry
In the quiet of an old church, architecture becomes a canvas for a spectacle of divine light. The title "Sacred Symmetry" perfectly describes the compositional balance, where every line and ornament finds its mirrored pair, creating a nearly perfect visual harmony. But the true magic of the image lies in the unexpected duality of color: one side of the ceiling is bathed in a warm, golden light, earthly and steeped in history, while the other is shrouded in a cool, violet aura that seems to belong to another world, ethereal and mysterious. It is a silent conversation between warm and cold, between the human and the divine—a perfect symmetry not just of form, but of spirit.
