"Taken at the Santa Susanna Springs, this is probably my favorite photo from that day. I was drawn to the huge contrast right in front of me: at the top, the swan was floating gracefully in perfect, mirror-like silence. And right below it, the water was crashing down with power and noise. I chose to leave it in black and white to emphasize this difference between calm and chaos"
